# Delete text from PDF online

Remove detected text from a PDF page with live feedback, undo protection and a downloadable cleaned copy.

- Input: PDF text
- Output: cleaned PDF
- Browser tool: [Open Delete text from PDF online](https://docsbunny.com/delete-text-from-pdf)
- Privacy: Supported processing runs locally after the person selects a file.

## Remove unwanted PDF text safely

Select an existing text run and delete it from the edited page. The underlying area is masked in the exported PDF, while undo remains available throughout the editing session.

## Steps

1. **Open the document** — The PDF stays on your device while the editor detects text positions.
2. **Select and delete text** — Choose Edit text, select the unwanted wording and use Delete or the keyboard shortcut.
3. **Review before export** — Check the cleaned page, undo if needed, and download the result.

## Common questions

### Is deleted text recoverable in the editor?

Yes. Use Undo before export to restore a text deletion or other recent change.

### Does this securely redact sensitive text?

No. Visual deletion is intended for ordinary document editing, not certified redaction of sensitive information or hidden metadata.

### Can text be deleted from scanned PDFs?

Scanned words are part of an image rather than a text layer. Use the image editing selection for visual changes or OCR the document first.
