Edit text in PDF online

Select and rewrite text already inside a PDF, then change its size, color, position or rotation without uploading the file.

How to change existing text in a PDF

The editor detects selectable text runs and places precise edit targets over them. Choosing a target creates an undoable replacement that masks the original and exports the updated wording into a new PDF.

  1. Open a text-based PDF

The browser reads each page and detects editable text without sending the file away.

  2. Choose Edit text

Hover over detected text, select the words you need, and type the replacement in place or in Properties.

  3. Fine-tune and export

Move, resize, recolor, rotate or delete the text, then export the updated PDF.

Common questions

Why is some PDF text not selectable?

Scanned pages and text converted to vector outlines do not contain a normal text layer. Those pages need OCR before their wording can be detected.

Can I move existing PDF text?

Yes. After selecting detected text, drag it directly on the page or resize and rotate it with the editor controls.

Can I undo a text replacement?

Yes. Text activation, movement, property changes and deletion all participate in the editor undo history.
